Description

"These recordings were made between 1998 - 2004. I'd write a tune then practice until I actually could play it well enough to record. These are early versions of when I was first able to play the songs from start to finish. So since I captured them early-on within the creative process each composition remained fresh and spontaneous (in my opinion). I honestly enjoyed making this cd and I think the fun & spontaneity is captured on the recordings." -mp

Artist Profile
Mike Pachelli's guitar playing began at age 10 with jazz guitar lessons in his. hometown of Youngstown, Ohio. He grew up listening to everything from Duke Ellington to The Beatles to Tony Bennett. He received a Bachelor's Degree in classical guitar from Youngstown State University.

Mike moved to New York City after college and has gone full circle from rock to classical to jazz to rock. Pachelli has a wealth of musical experience gained thru years of night clubs, concert halls and recording studios. Mike's own guitar style mixes rock, jazz, classical, and blues, and reflects the variety of players he has gigged and/or studied with, including organist Jack McDuff, guitar luminaries Joe Pass and Pat Martino, big band greats Les and Larry Elgart, and pianists Ferrante and Teicher among others.

Blues great Albert King once offered Mike a touring position after hearing only one song, MTV wanted him to VJ, and "Late Night with David Letterman" called him to be a staff writer. Mike has worked in the motion picture industry as an extra, including a scene with Robert DeNiro and Meryl Streep in the film "Falling In Love". Pachelli has composed soundtrack music for horror flicks such as "Toxic Avenger" and "Health Club Hero", and has composed hundreds of major advertising jingles.

Guitarists around the country are well aware of Pachelli's technical prowess and understanding of complex musical theories & harmonic juxtapositioning. Mike's book "Modal Mastery For Guitar Improvisation" is a must read for all serious students and part of the curriculum at the important guitar institutions.

In previous years, The Mike Pachelli Show was on TV every Friday and Saturday nights on the Tampa/St. Petersburg, Florida Warner Brothers affiliate WTMV WB32! In addition to playing with his group on the show and airing music videos, Mike has had a chance to interview and trade tips with stars such as Paul McCartney, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Robert Plant, Dennis Hopper, The Beach Boys, Extreme, Expose, Sinbad, Eric Johnson, Allan Holdsworth, Phil Keaggy, Les Dudek, Joe Satriani, and countless others over the past nine years. (see photo album "Mike and Friends")

Additional, Mike has produced the "Electric Guitar Method" Video. The video includes personal lessons for the serious student as well as the intermediate player.

Mike was awarded the Jammy Award for #1 Guitarist in Florida, won the Central Florida Hottest Acoustic Guitar Player competition.

Mike has released a number of CDs, played numerous occasions and venues and now moves forward in new and interesting avenues.
