Description

"Lynn Starr is a unique singer. She has a Nashville intonation in her voice yet she is not singing Country Music.

"She is a song stylist who is able to get into different moods of music and understands the lyrics, as written. For example: Her BLUES moments, 'Women Be Wise' and 'Good Morning Heartache' get you in the gut. While the tribute to her dad 'The Greatest Man', made famous by Reba McEntire, is warm and loving.

"She also turns those moods around beautifully and can be funny, funny, funny with 'Nobody Does Like Me' and 'Everybody Says Don't'. I Say DO!

- Maryann LoPinto; June; 1997, Cabaret Hotline Magazine

Testimonials
"When I first met Lynn Starr she bore almost no resemblance to the beautifully talented Cabaret artist she is today. Promising her the proverbial 'NOTHING,' she placed herself completely in my hands.... not an easy thing for a stranger to do.

"Before long, we became good friends as well as director and student. I gave her my support through three major losses in her young life. She repaid me by waiting and praying for me to survive major surgery.

"Through these clouds emerged a polished, sophisticated artist; sure of herself yet never disingenuous, as ready to laugh as she is to cry, to sing, to share her joy. With Frank Owens at the piano it all looks so easy and sounds so good!

"I could never be more proud of an artist for seeing a project through to completion than I am of Lynn. Her act is unique with style both strong and vulnerable. She touches every emotion as she holds the audience in her hands... tenderly, firmly and lovingly. And they in turn, know they are in good hands and enjoy the ride.

Come along. This is Lynn Starr. Enjoy her!" -Sandi Merle, Artist Representative

"..this bluesy belter has a terrific voice. Lynn Starr is definitely someone to watch." -John Hoglund; Back Stage Magazine

"Rarely has a performer been so prophetically named. Starr is one hell of an entertainer." -John Michael Koroly; WVOX Radio

"Lynn Starr is all that her name implicates. Her down and dirty, hell raisin' voice brings you into the song and closer to the singer. Four branches Off The Ol' Tree for this delightful and entertaining singer." -Tree; Applause! Applause! Magazine

Artist Profile
A native New Yorker, Lynn Starr headed out into the world with a degree in Business Administration. After climbing the proverbial corporate ladder, Lynn found she was not fulfilled and had some soul-searching to do.

Always hoping to pursue her lifetime dream of becoming a professional singer, Lynn gave her computer the "boot" and "hitched a ride" to Nashville. It was 1992 and Lynn was determined to succeed.

Within five years, Lynn added to her resume: television, voice-overs, theater, studio and demo work and a Debut CD, "Lynn Starr Live It's Only Love," with noted pianist Frank Owens. It was time to return to her native New York where she began work with director Sandi Merle. Once home, she made her New York Debut, performing at Eighty-Eights. She later added a full roster of Cabaret venues to her list. Lynn also toured in "Always Patsy Cline" and performed in revues at the Emelin Theater.

Lynn's act, which is a culmination of all the above experiences, is unique in as much as it can be tailor-made for any particular audience, drawing from country, jazz, blues and conventional standards. Now when Lynn reboots her computer it's to add another night club to her roster.
