Description

In this album you will not hear the conventional so called Greek music. There are many Greek orchestras - but there are very few in our country that really and truly capture the authentic sound of Greece. Not only the Athenian sound, but also the Vlaheka (Little Village Sounds). In this album Bill Sepsis has music for dancing all the familiar Greek dances, and he has truly and honestly captured "The Sound of The Greek People" - with the help of John Sepsis, Bill's father, a musician himself from the Old Country.

John worked and learned his trade in all the clubs in Greece. When he migrated to America he formed his own orchestra and for many years was The Greek Band in Chicago's Greek society circles. It was here that Bill Sepsis picked up his father's footsteps; and, took over when his dad retired.

His group has played together for many years and has had extensive convention bookings. In 1962 at the Ahepa National Convention these fine musicians entertained approximately 25,000 persons in less than one week's time. They have toured the Mid-West and the West, and even appeared as far South as Houston, Texas.

Here then we present Bill Sepsis OPA! Playing for your dancing pleasure for this is really one of the very, very few Greek orchestras in America that play real Greek music. "Maybe the only one" OPA!
