Symphony of the Incarnation - 2 CD Set

by Sally Daley and Ihm Lectors and Ensemble

The Symphony of the Incarnation is a large work for organ, bass flute, alto flute, and C flute, plus four readers. The text was written by Rev. Benet A. Fonck,OFM, a well-known Franciscan writer, who is also the spiritual advisor for the Franciscan Society of the Queenship of Mary. The music was written by Sally A. Daley,QM, as reflections to each section of the text. One can hear snatches of seven well-known, old Christmas carols within the movements. It is not a symphony in the classical sense of the word, but is a large symphonic work which can be used as the basis for religious retreats, or other religious services in preparation for Christmas. It will give the listener a much deeper understanding of the real meaning of Chirstmas.

The performers: Are some of the IHM Lectors and the ensemble of the three flutes and organ. The work was recorded live at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Chicago, IL.

Performers are as follows: Flutists: Elizabeth Delorit, Christopher Skrable, and Valerie Simosko. Elizabeth is the music and Spanish teacher at St. Athanasius' School in Evanston, IL. Chris is the music director of St Athanasius' parish. Valerie is the former principal flutist of the Charlotte, NC, Symphony Orchestra. The organist is also the composer of the music.
