Artist Profile
Music in Dennis Post's life began with the traditional piano lessons in Elizabeth N.J. and the rich experience of hearing his brother Percy Post's band rehearse and perform on OR-NY radio. Roy Eldridge was among many musicians in New York who would visit his house. Of course "Fats" Waller also shared radio time with his brother.

From the high school band playing trumpet, through the military service playing alto, to Los Angeles City College, his musical awareness grew. The need to write and arrange was ever present as Post performed with his own groups in the then coffee houses of the '50s and '60s which spotted the LA and Hollywood area. Night clubs and coffee houses had a wealth of musicians to listen and play with such as The Zebra Lounge on the south side, Shelly's ManHole in Hollywood and the Lighthouse on the beach.

After settling in the Bay Area in the '60s, as music jobs and jazz clubs became scarce with the onset of rock, writing and practicing ideas became the main focus in Dennis's mind. As the electronic era grew in sophistication, the stage for composition was set. A late bloomer by no means, the horizon for Dennis is here. Dennis does his own mixing, mastering, printing and packaging.
